Diwali on the Hudson™

Diwali on the Hudson™ was an event that I first planned in 2014. It's quickly become NYC's premier Diwali party, selling out every year since then. One of the most significant festivals in Indian culture, Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. The festival, which coincides with the Hindu New Year, celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.

This is a cocktail-style fundraising event overlooking the Hudson river, where guests enjoy the beats of acclaimed Indian fusion DJs, entertainment, delicious Indian fare, and other fun surprises. This is a see and be seen party that gives our guests the opportunity to dress up in their Indian-inspired attire. Diwali on the Hudson has been named one of India.com’s “4 Diwali Events You Must Check Out in New York City” and has been featured by the New Yorker, Fast Company, and TV Asia. On Facebook in 2017, the event reached 319,952 organically, and had nearly 10,000 Going/Attending responses. The guest demographics skew 22-50 yo, 50/50 M/F, HHI $75K+, and mover & shaker types across industries.

I planned and managed every aspect of this event, with support from my team on bringing on sponsors and entertainment. We've previously had a live rangoli artist, henna artist, Classpass founder Payal Kadakia's Sa Dance Company, DJ Rekha, Karsh Kale, Raja Kumari, and a star-studded Payal Singhal fashion show as entertainment.
